A sexually-repressed multilingual translator from New Jersey must save the world (from a group of megalomaniacs plotting a nuclear-fueled global coup) by taking down the earth’s electrical grid using an explosive vagina.

STRANGE LOVE was a finalist in the second round for the 2020 Sundance Screenwriting Lab and the Middlebury Script Lab and was nominated for the 2020 WriteHer list by Marta Kauffman.

The project is currently in development with producers Lela Meadow-Conner and Erica Hart.

Nitzan is a Brooklyn-based world traveler and filmmaker who enjoys delving into socially conscious comedy.  After spending some quality time wearing a gas mask in a bomb shelter during the Gulf War at the age of six, she was ferried off to Los Angeles where she synthesized her fascination with geopolitics and her love of Hollywood into a still-active delusion that: yes, movies can make a difference.

Nitzan's most recent project has unfolded over the pandemic: QUARANTINE, I LOVE YOU, a collection of short, interconnected conversations that take place on Zoom. Featuring: Ali Wentworth, Denis O'Hare, Sarah Steele, Michael Chernus, Laura Gómez, Jayne Houdyshell, Jay O. Sanders, Trieste Kelly Dunn, Geneva Carr, Ruffin Prentiss, and others.

A SCIENTIST’S GUIDE TO LIVING AND DYING, the first feature she wrote and co-created, is a hybrid of fiction and reality where Nitzan followed her own real-life pregnancy on film for 9 months within a fictional story. The film premiered at the Tallgrass Film Festival where it won the Excellence in the Art of Filmmaking Award. It has since screened in festivals across the US including at the River Run International Film Festival and Stony Brook International Film Festival.

Nitzan’s short, PERIOD PORTRAIT, a comic and provocative look at women’s reproductive cycles, won awards from the National Board of Review and New York Women in Film and Television, and screened at IFP Filmweek’s NextGenNYC series.

Nitzan was commissioned to direct a short documentary on GLORIA STEINEM that featured interviews with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Naomi Wolf, and Lisa Kron.

Her new project, STRANGE LOVE was a second round finalist for the 2020 Sundance Screenwriting Lab, Middlebury Screenwriting Lab, and Outfest Screenwriting Lab.

Nitzan is a proud member of Film Fatales and The FilmmakeHers
